It all started
with a trip.
Long before Les Alfreds, there was a trip. A small cabin in Lapland, a few days away from the daily grind… and an idea that, without us knowing it yet, would follow us for a long time.
2014 · LAPLAND
A small Finnish cabin
and an idea that would never leave us.
It all started in 2014, beyond the Arctic Circle. During a stay in Finnish Lapland, we discovered the raw charm of Kotas, those traditional wooden chalets where time seems to stand still. It was there, around a wood fire, that our desire to share this emotion sprouted: the feeling of being both at the end of the world and perfectly at home.
Back in Switzerland, this cabin never left our minds. We started dreaming of a place that would capture this Nordic essence while anchoring it in our beautiful village of Alle.
AND BY THE WAY…
Why “Les Alfreds”?
Many ask us if Alfred was an ancestor, a builder grandfather, or a wise old man from the Jura. The truth is simpler, and it hides in our first names. A contraction born almost as a joke among friends… and which ended up becoming the name of this whole adventure.

2021 · LA BARAQUE
A family home.
And a lot of work.
Nearly four centuries of history to keep alive.
La Baraque is not just a house. It is an old farmhouse dating back to 1600, passed down from generation to generation in Aline's family.
In 2021, it was our turn to take care of it. After so many years and so many stories, it deserved a makeover... and a lot of love.
We then embarked on a complete renovation, doing a large part of the work ourselves, while ensuring we preserved what makes its character and soul.
When our immigration project to Canada resumed, we didn't want to see this house remain empty. We then decided to open it to others, for a few days at a time.
Families, couples of friends, groups who come to gather there, share large meals, and write, in their turn, a small piece of this house's history.

2022 · THE KOTA B&B
A year later, the Lapland idea became a reality. We decided to bring the Great North to the heart of the Jura by building our own Kota in our orchard. Not just simple accommodation, but a true bed & breakfast experience where wood and fire create a protective cocoon against the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Sometimes, everything starts
with love at first sight.
Le Chalet Bed & Bath à Soubey est arrivé comme une surprise. En découvrant cette bâtisse au bord du Doubs, nous avons tout de suite vu son potentiel pour devenir un refuge proche de la nature. Quelques mois de rénovation intensive plus tard, il accueillait ses premiers voyageurs en quête de tranquillité et de nature.

We are not professional hoteliers, but we are passionate about places with a soul. We manage Les Alfreds as a family, with the desire that every visitor feels personally welcomed into our little universe suspended between the Jura and the Great North.
